The Social Security System said it released more than P132-billion in social security and employees’ compensation benefits, as well as loans, to its members and pensioners in the first six months of 2021.

At the launching of the uSSSap Tayo Portal Sept. 10, SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said P115.73 billion in social security and employees’ compensation benefits were disbursed to 3.60 million members and beneficiaries.

This year’s release was 20.6 percent and 15.4 percent higher than the P95.96 billion in benefits disbursed to 3.12 million members, respectively, for the same period in 2020.

Loan releases, including salary, educational, calamity, housing, and pension loans, in the first semester of 2021 reached P17.19 billion for 691,048 borrowers, or an increase of 19.2 percent and 8.0 percent, respectively, compared to the P14.42 billion loan releases for 639,735 borrowers in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Ignacio said during the virtual press conference that the launching of the portal was part of the month-long online celebration of the 64th founding anniversary of SSS.

Aside from its many digitalization accomplishments, the uSSSap Tayo Portal provides its users with easier, simpler, and faster access to SSS information, and an additional facility for sending their concerns.

It has three main features. The first is Knowledgebase, which contains all relevant information about SSS programs and services, including step-by-step guides. The second is the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section that allows users to get answers to common queries; and the third is the facility for the viewing and submission of tickets where users can check the status of their concerns or create additional tickets, its press release said.

The ticket contains the concern of the user with regard to requests for assistance, counselling, inquiries, appreciation and commendations, status verifications, complaints, or suggestions and recommendations.

The Knowledgebase and FAQs section can be accessed through the home page, while users can view the status of tickets or make one by creating an uSSSap Tayo account and logging in to the portal at https://bit.ly/uSSSapTayo. – nnd
