SSS, DICT discuss collaborations on computing tech, digitalization

The Social Security System and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) are eyeing a broad range of partnership opportunities while navigating the fast-changing IT landscape.

SSS president and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro and newly-appointed DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda discussed collaborations on multiple fronts, specifically information technology standards and cloud/edge computing technologies in a dynamic environment and how these can be leveraged to improve services to SSS members.

“Through our strengthened partnership with DICT, Secretary Aguda can guide SSS as we navigate our way through the fast-changing IT landscape,” De Claro said in a press release March 28.

Aguda outlined priorities to improve government services to constituents. “We will promote changes to reduce queues in availing government services by pushing interconnectivity in a secure environment.”

The recent meeting between De Claro and Aguda signaled a rejuvenated commitment to collaborate on digitalization and modernization efforts, aimed at improving SSS online services and fostering greater efficiency in the delivery of social security benefits to millions of SSS members, especially overseas Filipino workers, for whom De Claro vows to provide even better social security protection. ||
