Bacolodnon Lois Baldonado Bernardino, a graduate of La Consolacion College-Bacolod, was commended this afternoon, Aug. 2, by the Sangguniang Panlungsod for placing fourth, with a score of 85.25 percent, in the Interior Design Licensure Examination July 25.

Councilor Em Ang, who authored the resolution of commendation, said Bernardino’s outstanding academic achievement not only brings honor and distinction to herself, but also reflects positively on the educational institutions within Bacolod City.

“Bernardino’s success serves as an inspiration and encouragement to other students, educators, and the entire community, reinforcing the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in pursuing educational goals,” Ang said.

Bernardino, of Barangay Villamonte, has achieved such remarkable feat…that contributes significantly to the overall growth and development of our city, fostering a culture that values education and excellence, the SP added.

Ang also told her colleagues at their regular session this afternoon that the Top 5 placer in the same licensure examination, Sherly Rose Maquiling Abalajen, of the University of San Agustin, is also a Bacolodnon from Villa Angela Subdivision, and initially studied at LCC-B.

She also pushed for the passage of a resolution congratulating Abalajen, who scored 84.95 percent in the exam administered by the Professional Regulation Commission in the National Capital Region, Cebu, and Davao last month.
