SP commends Bacolodnon athlete for Palaro 5×5 boys’ basketball feat

Bjorn Nemes Villaluna, of Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, has been commended by the Sangguniang Panlungsod for his exemplary performance in the 5×5 Elementary Boys basketball competition during the Palarong Pambansa 2024 in Cebu City early this month.

Villaluna, who plays for the St. Robert’s International College’s Panda Rockets, based in Jaro, Iloilo City, averaged 15 points per game, and received a gold medal and was declared the Most Valuable Player in the competition.

Panda Rockets represented Western Visayas in the competition and won the gold.

Villaluna was also recognized as the 3-Point Shot King and part of the Mythical Five in the Palaro.

“This achievement of Bjorn is a testament that hard work and dedication will reap fruits that will benefit the whole community,” the resolution of commendation, authored by Councilor Em Ang, and approved by the SP during its regular session July 24, said.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod has always recognized outstanding Bacolodnons in the field of sports, Ang said.

Villaluna, a dedicated basketball player, has also been awarded best player in several competitions held in the provinces of Negros and Iloilo. “Bacolod joins Bjorn Villaluna and his family in celebrating his exemplary feat,” the SP added. | CGC
