A Philippine Army soldier died after he was allegedly shot by his colleague inside a military outpost at Sitio Barasbarasan, Barangay Manlocahoc in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental Monday night.
The 36-year-old victim, a resident of Iloilo City, died at the Sipalay Infirmary while the 43-year-old suspect, who is from Lanao del Norte, is now under the custody of the Sipalay City Police Station.
Both members of the 15th Infantry Battalion figured in a commotion during the birthday celebration of their colleague.
Initial investigation showed that the suspect shot the victim in the left arm and the bullet penetrated his chest.
The suspect was immediately disarmed by his commanding officer and was then turned over to the police for detention. | GB
