Police recovered two abandoned boxes of smuggled cigarettes, worth around P100,000, at CL Ledesma Highway, Barangay 5 in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, at around 9:35 p.m. Sept. 17.
The operation was initiated after a 41-year-old laborer informed an intelligence officer about the presence of the suspicious items in the area, the San Carlos City Police Station reported.
Responding personnel verified the report and seized two boxes containing 100 reams of Carnival and Bosqu cigarettes.
The recovered items underwent proper on-site inventory, transported to the San Carlos police for documentation, and then turned over to the appropriate law enforcement agency for proper disposition and follow-up investigation. | TMD
