Six drug suspects arrested in NegOcc

The arrest of six suspected drug peddlers Sept. 10 in Negros Occidental yielded 72 grams of shabu with a market value of P489,600, according to the police.

Among those arrested was a high value individual and drug personality, identified only by the police as a certain Alfred. He was apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 3, Bacolod City.

His arrest led to the confiscation of 52 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P353,600.

The police also recovered 15 grams of shabu, with a market value of P102,000, from four drug suspects, who were separately arrested in Brgy. Mambulac, Silay City, a report from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said.

Another suspected drug peddler was nabbed by the police in Brgy. Mambagaton, Himamaylan City. The arrest yielded five grams of shabu, valued at P34,000.

All the six drug suspects, whose identities are being withheld by the police, are now locked up in jail and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. | GB
