Siquijor LGUs train on DRRM planning

A training-workshop on the formulation of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) plans for local government units of the province of Siquijor was conducted July 9-12 in Larena, Siquijor.

The planning workshop utilized the new LDRRM Planning Guidebook that was formulated by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), with the assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, based on the updated National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, 2020-2030, the National Economic and Development Authority in Central Visayas said July 18.

Participants to the workshop included DRRM officers and other officials and stakeholders of the province and its six municipalities, namely, Siquijor, Larena, San Juan, Lazi, Maria, and Enrique Villanueva.

Also in attendance were representatives of regional line agencies that have official stations in the province.

Technical assistance and training-workshop facilitation were provided by OCD-certified trainers Cornelio Guantero Jr. of the NEDA Regional Office 7, and Philip Ponte, Janice Padagdag, and Judy Ann Uy of the OCD Regional Office 7. ||
