Sipalay cop commended

A policeman assigned at the Sipalay City Police Station in Negros Occidental, received a Medalya ng Papuri, Certificate of Recognition, cash, and gift certificate from P/Brig. General Rolando Miranda, regional director of the Police Regional Office 6, in ceremonies held at Camp Gen Martin Teofilo Delgado in Iloilo City this morning, Oct. 18.

P/Staff Sergeant Ariel Baltazar was commended for being active in manning the border control of Sipalay City in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and voluntarily assisted a motorist who experienced a flat tire.

Baltazar was among the four police awardees recognized for their exemplary and unique endeavors in serving the community, under the “Pulis Magiting x Pilipinong Magiting” program of the PRO 6 and the Ayala Foundation Inc., represented by Keith Vincent Jablo, and Christine Terrenal, area manager of Globe.

The third batch of program awardees also included P/Cpl Christian Ronel Makilan of the 604th Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, who was instrumental in the construction of the house of Tatay Demetrio and who initiated the repair and construction of a school in Barangay 4, Sipalay City;

P/Cpl Lady Lee Berganio of the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, who offered to breastfed an 8-month-old baby in Dao, Capiz, and is active in Police Community Affairs activities in Capiz; and P/SSG Maureen Joy Galvez of the Iloilo City Police Station 1, champion of various police community affairs programs that benefitted the less fortunate families and individuals in the Iloilo City proper area.

Miranda, in his speech, said, “It is good that we take cognizance of the efforts of our policemen. Thank you very much to our partners, Ayala Foundation Inc. and Globe for the support and incentives to our awardees.”

This will boost the morale and welfare of our personnel to do their best for the better interest of fellow Filipinos, and will encourage their colleagues to do the same or more in their respective areas of assignment, he added in a press release.

The “Pulis Magiting x Pilipinong Magiting” is a program under the #MagingMagiting campaign of the Ayala Foundation. Inc. (AFI) which aims to foster love of country.

It is a collaborative program with the PNP to support the organization by giving recognition to its personnel who demonstrated unique and exemplary acts of courage and good deeds which benefited the community.

It also intends to strengthen the positive public image perception towards the PNP and boost the morale of its personnel as they perform their sworn duties. | NND
