A collision involving a minor driving a motorcycle, and an elderly SUV driver, left two individuals hospitalized and led to a police hot pursuit along the national highway in Sitio Stop Aguinaldo, Barangay San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental Aug. 26.

The incident occurred at around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, when the unregistered black Suzuki Smash motorcycle of the underage driver, was struck by the black Toyota Fortuner, driven by alias “Edmundo”, 72, of Talisay City, who fled the scene, the Toboso Municipal Police Station (MPS) reported.

Responding personnel from the Toboso Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed the injured minor driver and back-rider to the Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City for emergency treatment.

Due to the severity of their injuries, both victims were later transferred to the San Carlos City Hospital.

A hot pursuit operation was conducted against the fleeing SUV driver before “Edmundo” voluntarily surrendered at the San Carlos City Component Police Station, where he was subsequently handed over to the pursuing Toboso police team.
