Authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified robbery suspect, who died shortly after he was handcuffed by security guards inside a private subdivision in Barangay Zone 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental Aug. 25.
The Talisay Component City Police Station reported that subdivision security personnel on routine roving patrol spotted two unidentified men attempting to break into a home at around 12:40 a.m.
They immediately pursued the intruders but one suspect managed to evade capture and fled to an unknown direction, while they handcuffed the second suspect on site.
Security personnel noted that the suspect was still breathing when handcuffed, but his physical condition rapidly deteriorated shortly thereafter.
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office responders arrived to evaluate his condition and declared him dead at the scene after finding no vital signs.
Initial physical checks revealed no visible wounds or physical trauma on the suspect’s body, and no belongings was stolen during the incident, the Talisay police reported.
Authorities described the deceased as a male in his mid-40s, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall with a small build, and had a distinctive dollar sign tattoo under his eye.
Responding police officers secured the scene and coordinated with the Scene of the Crime Operatives to perform a forensic examination.
Meanwhile, police operations are ongoing to locate and arrest the other robbery suspect. | TMD
