The provincial government of Negros Occidental is set to hold the 2nd Renewable Energy (RE) Week Expo on July 17-19, at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.
Carrying the theme “R/E for Every Juan, Every Juan for R/E”, this activity is in line with the province’s “SecuRE Negros” program, the Capitol said.
SecuRE Negros is a flagship program which aims to achieve Reliable, Renewable, Accessible, Affordable, Available and Sustainable Energy in Occidental Negros by 2030.
This year’s RE Expo is in partnership with the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Department of Energy, Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and Environment, Alsons Power Group, We-Gen Energy Corporation, Energy Development Corporation, and the Negros Electric and Power Corporation.
The expo will feature exhibits of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies, consumer and business solutions, and stakeholder fora that bring together energy companies, government agencies, financial companies, civil society and local communities.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson institutionalized the Renewable Energy Week observance through Executive Order 04-09, series of 2024, recognizing the urgent need to address the climate crisis and promote the importance of renewable energy among Negrenses.
This is also part of the province’s Energy Development Roadmap, the Capitol said.
The RE Week is open to the public. ||
