The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod is urging Sky Cable Corporation to remove old wires across the highly-urbanized city.

The SP, in approving the resolution authored by Councilor Pao Sy, with councilors Dindo Ramos and Bobby Rojas as co-authors, said the city is implementing the “spaghetti wires” clearing program to promote public safety, ensure orderly utility installation, and improve the overall aesthetic condition of Bacolod.

Sy took note of reports of “unused, old, and possibly abandoned wires and cables on utility poles within the city that require proper identification and appropriate action,” hence the resolution.

She said that since Sky Cable has installed facilities and cables within Bacolod, there is need to properly identify, distinguish, and tag these wires from other utility cables for proper disposition.

She asked the company to immediately coordinate with the city government on the identification, proper management, and removal of unused and old wires. | CGC
