Four unidentified men shot to death a businessman in Barangay General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, May 27.
Police investigation showed the 37-year-old victim was waylaid by the assailants who fired at him several times, in the presence of his 10-year-old daughter in the area of Sitio Bebang.
The victim died on the spot, according to the police.
After killing the victim, the armed men entered the house of the victim and took the cellular phones of the victim’s wife and daughter.
The assailants fled towards the mountainous area of the barangay.
The Toboso police is verifying claims that the armed men are members of the New People’s Army as they accused the victim of a military informant.
Investigators recovered from the scene of incident four bullet shells of calibers 5.56mm and 9mm firearms. | GB
