Remnants of the New People’s Army (NPA) Roselyn Jean Pelle Command have claimed responsibility for the summary execution of three civilians they accused as military informants in Victorias City, Toboso, and E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental.
In a statement published on their website, spokesperson Cecille Estrella said they killed Rickne Daipal in Sitio Bairan, Barangay General Luna, Toboso on April 15.
Estrella linked the victim, whom they accused as an informant of the 79th Infantry Battalion, to several murder incidents in the past years.
Investigation of the Toboso Municipal Police Station showed that the victim, a 49-year-old farmer, was shot and killed by three unidentified men while he was resting inside his residence.
In another statement, the rebel group owned the killing of Jhonni “Owing” Montoya at Sitio Singco in Barangay Gawahon, Victorias City on April 2.
Initial investigation of the Victorias City Police Station indicated that the victim, a 44-year-old farmer, was shot and killed by three armed men outside the barangay hall.
The same group of rebels claimed responsibility for the killing of a 60-year-old barangay watchman and former quarry guard in Barangay Consing, E.B. Magalona on March 11.
In a statement sent to the media, Estrella accused the victim known as “Dakol” as a military intelligence asset. | GB
