Quiz bee finals set Oct. 23

Finalists in the 1st Kwizko quiz bee competition will face off, starting 2 p.m. on Oct. 23, at the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas gymnasium in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The 15 Grade 10 students from various schools in the 3rd District of the province will slug it out in an intense scholastic battle for a chance to become the first Kwizko champion.

The finalists are Jozh Pruellene Romaquin of Victorias National High School, Chester Abanggan – Negros Occ. National Science High School, Libert Villaruel – Barangay Estado National High School, all in Victoirias City.

Joshua Eso – Tanza National High School, and Christine Mae Tramado and Paul Antawn Guinalon, both students of Enrique B. Magalona National High School; Bea Marie Alisbo – Barangay Guimbalaon National High School, and Anika Hinolan and Marianne Asley Villeta – Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School, all in Silay;

Ranaelah Gamboa of Rafael Lacson Memorial High School, Meryll Millan – Dr. Antonio Lizares Memorial High School, and Neljhon Philip Llanes – Don Hilarion Gonzaga Memorial High School in Talisay; and Rachel Ricablanca – Cansilayan National High School, Claire Jaud – Lopez Jaena National High School, and Melancholy Danielle Barot – Murcia Open Bible Christian, all in Murcia.

The elimination rounds were held in different areas since last week of September, and private and public high schools in the 3rd District sent participants.—MML
