Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) director, P/Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales, has called for a multi-agency coordination ahead of the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City from Oct. 1-18.
Reales led the discussions on security and deployment, including the strategic positioning of personnel in parade routes, event venues, transportation hubs, tourist destinations, commercial areas, and other key convergence points, during the Task Group MassKara Festival 2026 coordination meeting on Sept. 24 at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in the city.
“For PRO-NIR, our approach is simple: anticipate, coordinate, and respond. Anticipate the pressure points. Coordinate before the problem reaches the streets. And when something happens, respond quickly, professionally, and decisively,” Reales said.
He tasked the police force to establish strategic deployments across high-density convergence areas, including parade routes, transit terminals, commercial hubs, and tourist landmarks, while adopting a community-first approach.
“I expect our personnel to do more than secure an area. I expect them to serve. Let our presence communicate one message: The celebration is yours. The safety is our responsibility,” Reales added.
Follow-up inter-agency sessions will also be held in the coming weeks to finalize manpower allocations, traffic routes, and emergency response contingencies, the PRO-NIR added. | TMD
