The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has passed the performance governance reporting revalida for the compliance stage, bringing it closer to receiving compliance status under the Philippine National Police Performance Governance System (PGS).
The evaluation was conducted on July 23 at the Sinagtala PATROLers’ Hall of the Center for Police Strategy Management at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
PRO-NIR Director Gen. Romano Cardiño said the regional office’s presentation before a board of panel highlighted its governance initiatives, strategic programs, best practices, organizational accomplishments, and mechanisms for implementing the PNP PATROL Plan 2030.
The PGS is the PNP’s governance framework aimed at improving organizational performance, accountability, and strategy execution in support of the PNP PATROL Plan 2030.
The evaluation panel was chaired by Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Decena, deputy director for Information and Communication Technology Management, with Atty. Frances Cynthia Guiani, member of the National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development serving as co-chairperson.
Brig. Gen. Gonzalo Villamor Jr., executive officer of the Directorate for Research and Development, served as vice chairperson.
Following the presentation and a question-and-answer session, the board of panel announced that PRO-NIR had successfully passed the performance governance reporting revalida for the compliance stage, affirming that the regional office has met governance standards and is ready for the conferment of compliance status under the PGS.
