The operation of the Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) of Bacolod City will be extended until Feb. 15, without penalty, but also sans the 10 percent discount on business tax that can be availed of by taxpayers who pay in full until Jan. 20.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved this afternoon, Jan. 17, the request of Mayor Alfredo Benitez to extend the BOSS deadline of filing of business permits and licenses for year 2024 of the first quarter payment of business taxes, fees, and charges.

The BOSS at the 4th floor of the Ayala Malls Capitol Central was initially set Jan. 2-20, as per City Ordinance No. 565.

But Stela Rose Rayos of the Permits and License Division, in her letter to Benitez dated Jan. 15, noted that “while there are 25,393 registered business establishments in Bacolod City for year 2023, there are 12,124 registered business establishments to date, and we are left with 13,269 more businesses to be registered, not including the possibility of registering new applicants”.

She requested for the BOSS extension to accommodate the unregistered businesses. | CGC
