About P877,872 worth of suspected shabu and several unlicensed firearms were recovered by the police from 10 drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental from Feb. 14 to 16, reports of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office showed.
The arrest of two armed suspects in Barangay Mina-utok, Calatrava on Feb. 15 led to the confiscation of about 83 grams of suspected shabu valued at P564,400.
The police officers also recovered a caliber .45 pistol and a caliber .38 revolver with ammunition.
In Barangay Mambulac, Silay City on Feb. 16, a drug suspect yielded about 14 grams of suspected shabu worth P95,200.
On Feb. 14, a 19-year-old suspected drug peddler was arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency personnel in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia.
His apprehension led to the recovery of about 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at P136,000.
Another 19-year-drug suspect was apprehended during an operation in Barangay 10, Bacolod City, which yielded about 55 grams of suspected shabu valued at P192, 500.
On Feb. 15, three other drug suspects were collared by the police in the cities of San Carlos and Sipalay as well as in La Castellana town for having more than two grams of suspected shabu in their possessions.
On the same day, a fisherman identified as alias “Wilson” was apprehended by the police in Barangay Cadiz Viejo, Cadiz City.
His apprehension yielded a caliber .38 revolver with three ammunition and P2,200 in marked money.
Alias “Kevin”, a farm caretaker, was intercepted by the police at a checkpoint in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia.
During the inspection, policemen recovered a caliber .357 revolver with two ammunition from the suspect, who will be charged for violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban. | GB
