Lawyer Randolf Pensoy is the new regional director of the Department of Labor and Employment-Negros Island Region, and the turnover ceremony was held July 6 at the regional office in Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City.
Pensoy pledged to continue advancing the department’s mandate of promoting productive and gainful employment, safeguarding workers’ rights and welfare, and strengthening partnerships with employers, workers, local government units, and other stakeholders.
“This turnover is more than a change in leadership. It is an opportunity for us to build on the strong foundation laid by those who came before us,” he said in a DOLE press release July 7. “Let us continue working together and sustain the valuable partnerships we have established because through collaboration, we can achieve greater success in serving the people.”

He also underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration with partner agencies and stakeholders to expand opportunities for employment, enhance workers’ protection, and foster industrial peace throughout the Negros Island Region.
The event gathered officials and personnel from the regional office and provincial field offices of Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor; Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, and the PESO Managers Association-NIR, marking the formal transition of leadership and reaffirming the agency’s commitment to delivering quality public service across the region.
Under the leadership of Pensoy, the DOLE-NIR remains steadfast in pursuing its mission of promoting decent work, protecting labor rights, generating sustainable employment opportunities, and improving the quality of life of workers and their families across the region. ||
