The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has dismantled two suspected drug dens in Bacolod City.
The agency reported that it arrested 15 suspects on Feb. 22 and 23.
Eight others were also apprehended by the police in a series of buy-bust operations in cities of Victorias and Bago, as well as in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, on Monday, Feb. 22.
The buy-bust operation on Feb. 23 in Barangay Banago in Bacolod City, by PDEA agents resulted in the arrest of seven suspects and the recovery of about 11 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P74,800.
Also seized were assorted paraphernalia.
The PDEA reported to have dismantled an alleged drug den under a certain Romeo Gain, alias Nonoy.
Arrested during the buy-bust operation, aside from Gain, were Romy, Ronnie and Jupiter Valenzuela; Marvic, Rico and Reymart dela Torre.
A day earlier, PDEA also dismantled a suspected drug den and arrested eight suspects in a similar buy-bust operation at Purok Cheriza II in Barangay 27, Bacolod City.
PDEA operatives seized about 12 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P81,600, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
Arrested were identified by PDEA as Rigor Diaz, the suspected drug den maintainer; Rona Rose Calabon, Jonathan Aguillon, Romeo Legaspi, Michael MIlendez, Samuel Bautista, Niño Sulitas and John Harven Delfin.
The 15 suspects will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, PDEA said.
A buy-bust operation, also on Feb. 22 at Carmen Street in Barangay 19-A, Victorias City, led to the apprehension of John William and Sherwin Higino, Ariel Hechanova, Jeffred Canete and Rajjhel Huenda.
The arrest of five yielded 1.3 grams of suspected shabu worth P8,800 paraphernalia, P500 in marked money and P1,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from sale of illegal drugs, the police reported.
Three other drug suspects separately nabbed by the police in Bago and Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, were identified as Rowena Fabillar and Marlon Pedronio, as well as Franz Jayson Palulim.
The apprehension of three suspects yielded almost a gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P6,120, P1,000 in buy-bust money and P168 in cash and assorted drug paraphernalia. – GB
