The Command Group of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Regional Office Negros Island Region (PDEA RO-NIR) is further strengthening coordination and partnership with the provincial government of Negros Oriental in support of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
PDEA RO-NIR acting director, Melvin Suarez Estoque, and his team paid a courtesy call on Governor Chaco Sagarbarria recently, and discussed key issues and concerns, including the current drug situation in the province.
Also discussed were the request for provincial support in the allocation of a lot for the establishment of the PDEA Negros Oriental Provincial Office (NORPO), and the need for additional logistical assistance to enhance operational readiness and effectiveness.

The implementation of Oplan Harabas and other ongoing anti-illegal drug initiatives were likewise tackled, along with strategies to sustain and strengthen collaborative efforts in the province.
Sagarbarria expressed his continued support for PDEA’s programs and initiatives, and stressed the provincial government’s commitment to maintaining peace and order and working hand in hand with law enforcement agencies toward the shared goal of a drug-free Negros Oriental.
The PDEA RO-NIR, in a press release, reaffirmed the strong partnership between the agency and the provincial government, and highlighted the unified resolve to intensify anti-drug efforts and ensure the safety and well-being of the people of Negros Oriental. ||
