Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, the new and vibrant upper midscale hotel in the City of Smiles, formalized its opening through a festive welcome of the holiday season.
“The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod creates another milestone in the history of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) as it offers Bacolodnons the first internationally-branded hotel in the City of Smiles. SMHCC solidifies its pursuit to further strengthen its brand portfolio and take hospitality to a notch higher,” Peggy Angeles, executive vice president of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., said.
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s mini art gallery, The Art Cove, was also inaugurated and hosted the first-ever exhibition.

The exhibit is a back-to-back feature of the works of Christina Bautista, titled “Images of Negros”, and Joan Honoridez’s “Tale of Marapara”.
“Art Cove is a reflection of the combined love for the arts shared by the locals of this region and by the SM Group. Through Art Cove, we wish to help the province cultivate and nurture more talents by serving as an avenue to showcase Negrosanon art to travelers and amplify the art tourism in the province,” said Sherwin Lucas, general manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.

After the inaugural exhibit program, guests were led to the Marapara Plaza or Pool Deck, located at the second level of the hotel, where the marker for the biggest mural in Negros was unveiled, followed by the Christmas launch program that featured musical performances from the De La Salle Chorale Bacolod and invited singer/host and commercial model Vien King.
A string ensemble welcomed the guests with classical tunes as they settled in for the evening festivities.
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia and city administrator, Atty. Edward Cuansing, graced the occasion.
To further keep the spirit of Christmas alive and to strengthen the hotel’s corporate social responsibility program, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod partnered with the Kalipay Negrense Bacolod.
A percentage of the hotel’s holiday hampers sales will be given to the foundation to support the basic needs of its Recovered Treasures, a home for disadvantaged children.
The tree lighting ceremony was led by Angeles, Lucas, and Cuansing.
The hotel also prepared unique, locally-inspired cocktails with desserts that speak of the holidays to celebrate the festive season with more excitement. – NWI
