P700K in shabu, guns confiscated

More than P700,000 worth of illegal drugs and assorted guns were recovered while eight suspects were arrested in a series of police operations on Dec. 15 and 16 in Negros Occidental.

Two drug suspects, with aliases of Ramil and Reynalin, were apprehended in a joint operation of the local police and troopers of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company on Dec. 15 in Hacienda Banilad, Barangay Nanca, E.B. Magalona.

The raid led to the recovery of about 105 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P714,000, assorted drugs paraphernalia, and a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition, a report of the E.B. Magalona Police Station said.

A businessman and five others were arrested on Dec. 16 in separate police operations, which also yielded more guns and illegal drugs.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, assisted by the local police, arrested Jave Aritao, 28, during the implementation of a search warrant at Purok 1 in Barangay Gen. Malvar, Pontevedra.

The apprehension of Aritao also yielded a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines containing 16 ammunition, according to the Pontevedra police.

Another operation at Purok Parkingan in Barangay Yubo, La Carlota City led to the arrest of Eduardo Estelloso, a truck driver, who yielded a caliber .38 revolver with five ammunition.

Four other drug personalities were arrested by the police in a series of buy- bust operations also on Dec. 16 in the municipalities of Valladolid and Manapla as well as the cities of Victorias and Escalante, which resulted in the recovery of more than five grams of suspected shabu valued at P35,000. | GB
