A motorcycle driver died after he was accidentally hit by a police patrol car Sept. 28 at Hacienda Socorro in Brgy. Punao, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified as Roy Valiente, 36, of Escalante City, who succumbed to multiple injuries. He was declared dead on arrival at the San Carlos City Hospital, the police said.
Initial police investigation showed that the San Carlos City police Hi Lux patrol vehicle, driven by Jhune Mil Kenn Nieves, 38, figured in a head-on collision with the Yamaha Mio motorcycle of the victim.
Both vehicles fell into a canal due to the impact.
Reports showed that it was raining and the road was slippery and muddy when the vehicular accident took place.
Nieves is now under the custody of the San Carlos City Police Station./GB
