The week-long anti-drug campaign of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) led to the confiscation of more than P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs.

In a report, the PRO-NIR said 30 drug personalities were arrested, yielding 1.12 kilos of suspected shabu from Dec. 29 last year to Jan. 4 this year.

On Jan. 5, a drug personality was arrested by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit at Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10 in Bacolod City.

Alias “Jan” was found possessing about 115 grams of suspected shabu valued at P782,000.

“Through sustained, coordinated, and decisive law enforcement actions, the PRO-NIR will continue to dismantle drug networks, neutralize high-value drug personalities, and protect communities across the region,” it said in a statement.

In the campaign against wanted persons, the PRO-NIR reported the arrest of 26 fugitives, including three considered as most wanted persons, and the recovery of six firearms and three explosives, and the surrender of 22 guns. | GB
