A 26-year-old resident of Purok Zone 6 in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, yielded about P340,000 in suspected shabu during a drug-bust operation in Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2 in the city at around 1 a.m. Dec. 15.
Ferlene Joy Molate was arrested but her companion, identified by the police as Louie Sombilla, who is the subject of the operation, was able to evade arrest.
The operation resulted in the seizure of several sachets of suspected shabu, weighing about 50 grams, P500 in marked money, and a coin purse.
Police Station 2 operatives said they received reports that the suspects are newly-identified drug personalities in Barangay 2.
Molate is detained at Police Station 2, and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. — MML
