The Bacolod City Police Office reported yesterday that it has confiscated P2.3 million of suspected shabu from five arrested drug personalities.

P/Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, BCPO spokesman, said that 351.1 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P2,387,280, were seized in five separate police operations that also resulted in the arrest of the five suspects, who are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In the campaign against wanted persons, the BCPO said it arrested 15, while 72 others were apprehended for illegal gambling that yielded P11,695 in cash bets.

In a statement, P/Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, lauded the different police units for a job well done in their efforts to curb criminality in Bacolod.

Martir also reminded BCPO personnel to always do their mandated task with all their passion and might, to reassure the people of Bacolod of their safety./GB
