P162M farm-to-market road, bridge inaugurated in Silay

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the official turnover and inauguration of the newly-rehabilitated P162-million Hinicayan to Violeta farm-to-market road and the Napilas Bridge in Silay City March 22.

The project is expected to boost the local economy with the ease and convenience of transportation, with about 3,000 households seen to benefit from the project of the more than 14,000 living in the area.

The FMR and bridge are projects of the Department of Agriculture-led Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), in collaboration with the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Silay local government unit, a press release from the Capitol said Thursday.

The ceremonial turnover was attended by Silay Mayor Joedith Gallego, Vice Mayor Thomas Maynard Ledesma and Sangguniang Panlungsod members, DA6 regional executive director, Engr. Jose Albert Barrogo, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, and Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, and other officials. ||
