P1-M ‘shabu’ seized

Policemen seized more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu in a series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental on June 5.

Among those arrested was a member of a local drug group, whose apprehension at Purok Arao in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City, yielded an estimated 160 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1 million.

The 61-year-old drug suspect, who was not named by the police, is an alleged member of Caunda drug group, and categorized as a high-value individual drug personality.

Policemen seized about P27,000 worth of suspected shabu from three other suspects in the  cities of Himamaylan, Bago and Talisay.

Also recovered were P1,200 in marked money, among other items.

The four arrested individuals have been locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | GB
