Close to P2 million in suspected shabu and a homemade shotgun were seized, and three persons were arrested, in drug-bust operations in Bacolod City and Victorias City in Negros Occidental Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The Bacolod City Police Drug Enforcement Unit operatives arrested Joelibert Sancho, 31, of Purok Tangigue in Brgy. 1, Bacolod City, at around 3:05 a.m. Tuesday, and seized from him 77 grams of suspected shabu, worth P523,000.
Sancho, tagged by the police as a high-value individual in their campaign against illegal drugs, also yielded P1,000 in marked money, a pouch, and P250 in cash, and is now detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 2.
At 4 o’clock this afternoon, about 200 grams of “shabu”, with a standard drug price of P1,360,000, and a homemade gun and ammunition were confiscated from two residents of Victorias City in a buy-bust operation at Yap Quiña Subdivision in Brgy. 3, Victorias.
Denmark Liscano, 26, of Lopez Subdivision, and Marijo Acuña, 37, of Yap Quiña Subdivision, both in the barangay, were arrested by joint elements of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, led by P/Lt. Glenn Soliman, and the Victorias Police Station, headed by P/Lt. Col. Roy Rodrigo Gutierrez, a police report showed.
Aside from several sachets of suspected shabu, the police also confiscated an improvised shotgun, two 12-gauge shotgun live ammunition, a cutter knife, buy-bust money of P25,000, two bags, two cellular phones, P1,200 in cash believed to be proceeds in the sale of illegal drugs, and other nondrug items.
The suspects will be turned over to the Victorias police custodial facility, the report added./CGC
