More than P1.3 million worth of illegal drugs have been recovered by the police in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City, and Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on March 1.
In Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, a 22-year-old suspect yielded 157 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.067 million.
The raid at a residence in Sitio Lugway, Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran led to the arrest of a certain “Bimboy”, a 34-year-old tricycle driver, for illegal possession of firearms.
Incidental to his arrest, the police recovered about 45 grams of suspected shabu worth P306,000 and a homemade shotgun with ammunition.
On the same day, the police arrested alias “Levy” at Sitio Tugbungan in Barangay Andulauan, Ilog town, resulting in the recovery of an estimated 1.3 grams of suspected shabu valued at P8,840.
The series of police operations on Feb. 28 in Valladolid town as well as the cities of Talisay, Cadiz and La Carlota led to the arrest of five suspects who yielded about six grams of combined shabu and dried marijuana leaves with a market value of P30,000, and a caliber 9mm Black Widow revolver with six ammunition. | GB
