More than 66,000 students, faculty members, and campus stakeholders across 23 academic institutions nationwide now enjoy faster, safer, and more convenient access to digital financial services through Landbank’s cash-lite campus initiative, helping young Filipinos build financial skills and manage money more effectively.

Since its launch in April 2025, the program has introduced students to practical digital banking tools that make everyday transactions easier, from opening bank accounts through a mobile phone to paying school fees online.

The initiative also benefits campus food vendors, micro-merchants, and transport providers by connecting them to formal banking services, expanding economic opportunities and promoting financial inclusion within school communities.

Landbank’s cash-lite campus initiative brings digital banking and financial education closer to students, helping build safer, more convenient, and financially inclusive campus communities nationwide.

“The Cash-Lite Campus program goes beyond making payments easier. It gives students and campus entrepreneurs practical financial tools for managing their everyday transactions,” Landbank president and CEO Lynette Ortiz said in a statement. “By introducing digital banking early, we help young Filipinos build responsible financial habits and prepare for an increasingly digital economy.”

To make banking more accessible to students, the initiative promotes the bank’s mobile banking app (MBA) and the piso plus account, which can be opened through a mobile phone without an initial deposit or maintaining balance. Schools can also use Link.BizPortal, the bank’s online payment platform, to accept tuition and other fees, reducing the need for over-the-counter transactions.

The program has been rolled out across various campuses of the University of the Philippines, the University of Makati, Central Luzon State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Southern Leyte State University, Central Mindanao University, and other state universities and colleges (SUCs) nationwide.

Through the initiative, Landbank is helping shape a new generation of financially empowered Filipinos by bringing digital banking and financial education directly to campuses. The program equips students with essential life skills while advancing the goals of the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport Agenda for inclusive growth and improved access to opportunities. ||
