After two straight weeks of rollbacks, the pump prices of petroleum products will increase anew, effective tomorrow, July 15.
Oil companies announced over the weekend that diesel will increase by P1.10 to P1.50 per liter, gasoline by P0.50 to P0.70/L, and kerosene by P0.60 to P0.90/L.
This is the first hike this month, after oil companies slashed the per-liter price effective July 1 and 8, based on changes in the international oil market.
The Department of Energy, meanwhile, said it is committed to growing the electric vehicle industry in the country.
“Electric vehicles (EVs) are seen as a strategic solution to temper the effects of rising oil prices by reducing the country’s reliance on imported fuels, particularly in the transport sector,” the DOE said in a statement July 12.
It added that, as of this month, some 176 EV charging station providers it has accredited are offering safe, reliable, and accessible charging solutions nationwide, including in Bacolod City. | CGC
