The New People’s Army (NPA) Roselyn Jean Pelle Command has owned responsibility for the summary execution of a civilian they accused as a military informant in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on March 11.
In a statement, rebel spokesperson Ka Cecil Estrella alleged that Efren Solinap, alias “Dacol”, was meted revolutionary justice for the capital offense of espionage and robbery with murder.
Solinap, a 60-year-old barangay watchman, was gunned down while he and his companion were clearing a sugarcane farm drainage in Sitio Tinawgan, Barangay Consing.
Three unidentified persons emerged from the sugarcane field and shot him, according to the investigation of E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station.
Estrella claimed that Solinap served as a guide in military operations and coordinated with local intelligence networks of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. | GB
