The Northern Negros Electric Cooperative said July 22 that its average residential rates this billing month increased by P1.0079 per kilowatt-hour, mainly due the increase in generation charges and the higher cost of electricity traded in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
This means that Noneco member-consumer-owners (MCOs) from E.B. Magalona, Victorias, Manapla, Cadiz, Sagay, Escalante, San Carlos, Toboso, and Calatrava will be paying P13.96/kWh, from the P12.96/kWh rate in June.
“Ang 7.78 percent nga net increase sa aton power rate para sa Hulyo 2026, nga nagadugang sang P1.0079 kada kilowatt-hour sa inyo balayran, naghalin sa malala nga transmission congestion bangud sang wala ginapaabot nga pag-untat sang operasyon sang pila ka daku nga power plants sa Visayas grid,” Noneco told its MCOs in an advisory. | CGC
