In his Oct. 18 executive order, Gustilo urged residents to stay home, except for frontliners, essential workers, and for purpose of accessing basic and medical needs.

San Carlos City, which is now under the Modified General Community Quarantine, registered 138 COVID-19 cases, of which 79 are active cases, 55 recovered and four deaths.

Mayor Gustilo also temporarily suspended the issuance of travel certifications to places outside San Carlos, except for essential and emergency medical needs.

Non-residents may enter San Carlos only for food and essential supplies and services delivery, with strict observance of health safety protocols.

Gustilo also advised private companies in the city, whose employees are non-residents, to either house their employees in the city or require them to work at home.

Health checkpoints in key and strategic areas in San Carlos were already established as a precautionary measure against COVID-19. GPB
