The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, once again, topped the accounting of fugitives with pending arrest warrants issued by various courts, among provincial and highly-urbanized city police stations in Western Visayas.

Of the 468 wanted persons, NOCPPO was able to effect the arrest of 242 fugitives, while the Bacolod City Police Office apprehended 50 others, for the month of February.

Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 6, said that the number of arrested wanted persons in Western Visayas increased by 24.8 percent compared to 375 in January.

Of the 83 most-wanted persons apprehended, the NOCPPO has the most number of arrest with 23, and ranked No. 1 in serving arrest warrants to 219 other wanted persons.

P/Brig. Gen. Flynn Dongbo, regional police director of Western Visayas, encouraged all PRO 6 units to continue the tracking of still at-large wanted persons.

“This endeavor of accounting them has a great and positive contribution to our objective of making every community a safer place to live, work, and do business,” Dongbo said./GB
