Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson asked P/Col. Leo Pamittan, newly-installed director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, to ensure peaceful elections on May 9 in the province.
Pamittan paid a courtesy call on Lacson at his office at the Capitol in Bacolod City Jan. 11, after his installation Monday at the Police Regional Office 6 headquarters in Iloilo.
Lacson asked Pamittan to maintain peace and order in the province, as this should be a priority of any police commander.
He also lauded the performance of former NOCPPO director, P/Col. Romy Palgue, who led the command that was adjudged the best performing PPO, and thanked him for his kind of leadership which always asks for guidance from the Almighty.
Lacson presided over the annual New Year Call of all department heads of the Capitol Jan. 11, and gave orders to continue efforts to help victims of Typhoon Odette.
He cited the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian that ensured the immediate recovery of farmers and livestock breeders affected by Odette.
Lacson ordered all departments to tap resources, ask for funding, projects, and programs from national agencies, and map out ways to help Negros farmers avail of interest-free loans from the national government.
The governor also announced that the four-day face to face and one day work from home scheme for all Capitol employees will continue. |MML
