Negros Occidental yesterday logged one death and seven new COVID-19 infections, bringing to 83 the total active cases, as of July 29, a report from the Provincial Incident Management Team shows.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson earlier said COVID-19 cases in the province may reach 100 in the next few days.
On July 28, the PIMT recorded one death due to the virus.
From March 27, 2020 up to July 29 this year, Negros Occidental logged a total of 41,733 COVID-19 cases, with 39,671 recoveries and 1,978 deaths.
In a tweet Friday, OCTA Research Group fellow, Dr. Guido David, reported that Aklan, Antique, and Capiz were among the 10 provinces in the country with the highest positivity rate, or higher than 20 percent./GB
