Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) marked its second anniversary by extending livelihood support to farmers through the Roots of Hope: Farmers’ Livelihood Support Program held at Purok 18 in Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City on Aug. 25.
The initiative supported the Alangilan Granada Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Farmers Association Inc. through the donation of various vegetable seeds and seedlings, along with crates and a canopy to help strengthen their farming activities.
The assistance included various varieties of corn, balatong, okra, ampalaya, pipino, kalabasa, talong, tomato, bell pepper, and hot pepper.
The activity was attended by Negros Power vice president and chief operating officer Joe-Mel Zaporteza, Alangilan village chief Roy Retiza, Granada village chief Armando Vito, Negros Power employees, and members of the farmers’ association led by its president, Renato Parohinog.
The program aims to strengthen farmers’ livelihoods, promote sustainable agriculture, and provide resources that can help improve productivity and support long-term community development.
Through Roots of Hope, Negros Power continues to invest in initiatives that empower communities, promote sustainable livelihoods, and help build a more resilient future.
