Negros officials to take oath under PBBM’s party today

Elected officials in Negros Island are set to join the political party of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).

About 200 to 300 Negros Island officials are taking their oaths as new PFP members, in a ceremony to be held today, Aug. 26, at the L Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.

The oath will be administered by South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr, who is also the PFP president.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition, TESDA Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez, and Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez, president of the Negros Association of Chief Executives (ACE), will give their respective messages of support.

Board Member Anthony Dennis Occeño has been designated as the PFP provincial chairman, while Himamaylan City Mayor Rogelio Raymund Tongson will introduce the guest speaker.

NPC and National Unification Party (NUP) of Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer have allied with the PFP that was formed in 2018. | GB
