Public schools across the province of Negros Oriental are now enjoying major savings in electricity costs through the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Even before the current fuel and energy crisis, the provincial government had already begun investing in renewable energy solutions for public schools. Several schools are now able to cut their electricity expenses by as much as 80 percent, allowing more funds to be focused on improving facilities and supporting students, the Capitol said.
This program reflects Governor Chaco Sagarbarria’s commitment to energy conservation, sustainability, and practical solutions that benefit communities in the long run.

Beyond helping schools, the provincial government is also preparing to integrate solar-powered energy systems for the upcoming new government center and the Negros Oriental Medical City, further strengthening the province’s shift toward cleaner and more efficient energy use.
Through initiatives like these, Negros Oriental continues to move forward with smart and sustainable programs, proving that good leadership means planning ahead for both the people and the future, the Capitol said. ||
