NegOcc vaccination output at 60.87%

The provincial government of Negros Occidental reported vaccination output of 60.87 percent, equivalent to 1,111,83 of the target population of 1,825,370, for the first dose against COVID-19.

Of the number, 42.17 percent or 769,746 had been fully vaccinated. There are 714,287 residents still targeted for vaccination.

Eight of the 31 local government units achieved more than 70 percent of their target.

The provincial government of Negros Occidental reported that more than 1 million Negrosanons have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

La Carlota City inoculated 112.03 percent, Murcia – 97.78 percent, Sagay City – 76.18 percent, Talisay City – 75.82 percent, Cadiz City – 75.73 percent, Victorias City – 75.44 percent, EB Magalona – 75.29 percent, and Pulupandan – 73.43 percent.

Eleven LGUs, meanwhile, were below target, including Calatrava – 37.48 percent, Moises Padilla – 40.90 percent, Toboso – 41.03 percent, Manapla – 43.38 percent, San Carlos City – 44.19 percent, Cauayan – 44.21 percent;

La Castellana – 45.09 percent, Isabela – 47.08 percent, Hinobaan – 47.79 percent, Hinigaran – 48.73percent, and Sipalay City – 49.11 percent.

As of Jan. 2, some LGUs already reached their 70 percent target but still need to vaccinate more than 25,000 residents.

These are Kabankalan City – 62,257, San Carlos City – 54,065, Bago City – 46,072, Cauayan – 41,664, Calatrava – 36, 843, Himamaylan City – 35,096, Hinigaran – 32,083, La Castellana – 30, 083, Escalante – 29,768, Silay – 28,043, Cadiz – 27,442, Sipalay – 26,063, and Sagay City – 25,463.

Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said he believes that it is still doable to vaccinate the remaining 714,287 individuals before the end of February.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson earlier committed to the Department of Health 6 that the province will be able to attain herd immunity by next month. | MML
