The provincial government of Negros Occidental is conducting a study to tap its properties, either in Talisay City or in Bacolod City, as probable venue for the regional offices of the Negros Island Region (NIR) assigned to the province.
It has a 7,000-square meter property recently vacated by the Land Transportation Office and Boy Scout of the Philippines along the Cottage Road and Lacson Street in Bacolod City.
“We can put up a high-rise building to house the different regional offices in Bacolod City,” Lacson said, adding that they can pursue a public-private partnership scheme for the construction of the structure.
Several years ago, the provincial government of Negros Occidental also purchased a 25-hectare property in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City. | GB
