The Negros Occidental provincial government shared its best practices and innovative approaches in local governance with a delegation from the Kalinga provincial government during a benchmarking activity at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City on Aug. 26.
The Kalinga delegation, led by Board Member Camilo Lammawin, was welcomed by Negros Occidental First District Board Member Laurence Marxlen de la Cruz and Assistant Provincial Administrator Chery Sheil Valenzuela.
The benchmarking focused on key programs and initiatives of Negros Occidental, particularly in economic enterprise development, the one-stop shop for the governor’s quarry permit, and micro, small, and medium enterprises livelihood and skills training programs.
The Kalinga delegation had an overview on how the programs are implemented, including efforts to streamline government processes, promote ease of doing business, strengthen local enterprises, and expand livelihood and skills development opportunities.
The sharing of practices provided the visiting officials with insights into approaches that support inclusive and sustainable economic growth while improving the delivery of government services.
Beyond the presentation of programs, the activity also served as a venue for both provinces to exchange ideas and explore innovative practices that could be adapted to their respective local settings. ||
