The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced Friday the resumption of the plebiscite on its Joint Venture Agreement with Primelectric Holdings Inc., every weekend, starting on Aug. 19.

In an advisory, Ceneco informed the public that the National Electrification Administration has approved the resumption of the plebiscite that was suspended to pave the way for the cleansing and validation of the master-list of member-consumers.

Ceneco acting general manager, Atty. Arnel Lapore, said the plebiscite has been set on Aug. 19, 20, 26, and 27, as well as on Sept. 2 and 3.

Lapore said that, after the validation, there are now 177,000 qualified member-consumers allowed to vote in the plebiscite, from the earlier list of 192,000. Most of the names removed from the master list was because of double entries, while some were already dead, he added.

He added that all information about the JVA, master list, and voting centers, are available on the Ceneco website, official Facebook page, and barangay centers.

“It will be the member-consumers who will make the decision during the plebiscite. We are encouraging everyone qualified to vote to go out and participate,” Lapore said./GB
