An unidentified gman shot and killed a leader of the Muslim community in Brgy. 4, Victorias City, Negros Occidental Feb. 1.
The police identified the fatality as Iksan Umpar, 35, of Toreno Heights Subdivision in Brgy. 3, Victorias City.
Umpar sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Victorias City Emergency Clinic, a report submitted by city police chief, P/Lt. Col. Joseph Fajardo Jr., to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said.
Police investigations show that the gunman approached and shot the victim, who was in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, and with his wife on board.
The motive for the shooting incident is still being established by the police. — GB
