Murder suspect nabbed in Toboso

An alleged member of the New People’s Army (NPA), who is facing murder charges, was arrested by the police in Barangay Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Feb. 18.

Alias “Wil”, 34, was reported to have been a member of Yunit Militia under the dismantled North Negros Front.

He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for murder with no bail recommended, according to a report of the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas (PRO-6).

In a statement, the PRO-6 said it remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals with warrants of arrest are held accountable.

From Feb. 10 to 16 this year, the PRO-6 reported the arrest of 241 fugitives in the region, among them 41 are classified as most wanted persons. | GB
